Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program
Student Assistance Program (SAP) has been in existence in PA since the 1984-1985 and is a mandated program designed to assist schools and families in obtaining resources for mental wellness and is part of the PA school code and Act 211.
Mission of PNSAS:
The mission of the Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services is to provide leadership for developing a safe and drug-free environment and mental health wellness in schools and communities across the commonwealth. Barriers to learning will be removed and student academic achievement will be enhanced through collaborative prevention, intervention, and postvention services.
As more schools implement SWPBIS, the question arises as to how these programs can work together. This section of the website will include resources as they are developed to assist you in this process.
If you need additional information on SAP and SWPBIS please contact your Regional SAP Coordinator or your Local PAPBS Facilitator.
